I called them green fries

I did try making the really, really thin asparagus, putting them on a cookie sheet, brushing them with olive oil and dousing them with sea salt. I baked them in the oven until they were extra crispy. I then called them “green fries.” My older son will actually eat them!

There is a disadvantage

I sort of believe that there is a disadvantage for people who home school their children. Being in a classroom for six hours, versus being home schooled and venturing out a few times a week? It just not the same amount of time.

I won’t let her “work” until she’s 18

If Maddie wants to do anything with the entertainment industry at a young age, I will put her with the best teachers, and let her go to the best classes, and totally support whatever she’s passionate about. But I don’t think I’ll let her sign a contract and let her “work” until she’s 18. My job as a parent is to keep her young and let her be a kid as long as I can.

It doesn’t bother me

It doesn’t bother me. There are so many more important things in the world to be bothered by. Breastfeeding in public — I don’t see why that would even enter my psyche as bothering me.

We are all about balance

In my house, we are all about balance. We like to have cookies and ice cream and sugary treats. But, we eat pretty healthy. I am pretty big on eating quality foods. So when they want treats, it’s okay. As a whole, we eat pretty well. I don’t like to have too many food rules — just that we’re eating healthy, and we’re eating wisely.
