It depends on what it is…

It depends on what it is and where it is. If it was at home and I knew the floor was clean, then I’d say it would be okay to do the five-second rule and pick it up. But in general, I don’t — I usually just throw it away.

Everything organic!

In terms of nutrition, we eat organic at home so that we can live our lives and have fun when we’re out in the world. I let my kids try everything — I like to try everything, so I let them do the same. And in terms of sweets, they’re over that. They know candy and treats are no big deal!

Love home cooked food!

Holiday dishes are special because they happen only a few times a year. However, each time I eat my favorites, I always question why that is? Why don’t I try to make green bean casserole after Christmas? It just makes no sense! But each year, it’s the same pattern. I promise myself that I will make the side dish more often… and then I don’t. Not sure if my answer is a bit odd but I seriously love green bean casserole. I don’t like mushrooms so I make it with Cream of Celery instead and sometimes if I’m being snazzy I swap out the green beans for broccoli. Yum! My absolute favorite.

Stuffing and more stuffing!

My favorite food during Thanksgiving is stuffing! I love stuffing! There is nothing better to stuff myself with than stuffing! I don’t get to stuff myself all year, so I definitely stuff myself with stuffing at Thanksgiving! LOL!

Do you cater to your kids’ individual tastes or make one dinner for everyone?

I am not a short order cook!

It always puzzles me when I hear other moms complain about how they “have to” make a separate meal for their kid.  Motherhood is hard enough as it is without making extra work for ourselves! Of course if your child has special dietary needs or something of the sort, that’s completely understandable; but making chicken nuggets every night or only “white” foods to avoid a temper tantrum? I can’t see it happening.  I cook for my family as a whole and they basically eat everything I make. Of course they’ll occasionally frown at the peas or pick out all of the bell peppers, but at least they’re exposed to those foods and at least Mom only has to make one dinner!
