What isn’t the worst part?

What isn’t the worst part of puberty for a girl? It’s awful. I hated every part of puberty. I hated getting my period. I hated tampons, I hated pads. I hated my stinkin’ blemishes and breakouts. Ugh.

Drink the whole bottle!

If you eat a cake and then drink a bottle of SkinnyGirl margaritas, you will find your fat dissolving. People often say, “I drink SkinnyGirl margaritas, but I haven’t lost weight!” I answer, you haven’t had enough, drink the whole bottle! Just kidding, not really. Everything has to be in moderation. I never wanted to give up a cocktail, so that’s why I came up with a lower-calorie version.

I believe you should lead by example

I don’t believe in teaching kids at a young age about body image. I believe you should lead by example. I never talk about dieting, weight, how things fit or being bloated. I think kids should have a wide variety in their diet, including vegetables, greens and beans. Don’t deprive them of treats — but don’t focus on them, either.

I called them green fries

I did try making the really, really thin asparagus, putting them on a cookie sheet, brushing them with olive oil and dousing them with sea salt. I baked them in the oven until they were extra crispy. I then called them “green fries.” My older son will actually eat them!
