When I was younger, my mother used to make me go outside all day long to play with my friends. Thankfully, I lived on a block filled with children. I think there were about 9 houses that had children in my age range. It was always a party. That was NYC. Now that I live on Long Island, many families let their children play in their backyards and that’s not something I’m used to. So, instead, we get the kids outside in the front with their bikes and chalk. 9 times out of 10 a friend usually sees us and comes over. So, it’s a great way to make sure the kids aren’t vegging out in front of the TV. We also schedule the children in a variety of after school activities. My son is in every sports clinic you can imagine and my daughter just loves her gym class. It’s hectic getting them to and from each class, but it’s so worth it.
