I am old school in encouraging active play- I simply just send the kids outside. They figure it out from there. They don’t even need toys or anything to play with- they can swing on the trees, climb, collect sticks, and make up stuff with their imagination. It can get chilly here but the school’s rule is that if it’s above 20 degrees, they go outside. And I like that rule, too! They can bundle up and get out in that fresh air. And if it’s raining, that’s why we have rain boots and umbrellas! (Of course I often join them, too!)
