Just recently I was in the grocery store and witnessed a mom yelling at her toddler son in such an alarming way that I was shaken.  I immediately texted my sister to share what I’d seen because I was so upset! She had been screaming and cursing and threatening the child…who had to be all of 3.  I considered telling a store manager, but figured that their hands would be tied. And so I went about my shopping.  We ended up crossing paths again (and she was still threatening) and I intentionally caught her eye with a frown and her son’s eye with a smile to reassure him that he was ok. I hope she was just having a bad day.
